Dusty.

Finish carpenter of twelve years building software where most engineers can’t reach — into the lived workflow of trades, sites, and material reality.

Geospatial systems LiDAR & computer vision LLM tooling
§ 01 On the bench

A dual-track operator. Trades depth, builder velocity.

Twelve years of high-tolerance finish carpentry — trim, cabinetry, built-ins, custom installs. Now writing the systems for the workflows I worked inside: material shortages, punch-list breakdowns, blueprint-to-field variance. Currently enrolled at Hennepin Technical College and shipping projects across geospatial, LiDAR, and LLM tooling.

I work fast, ship things, and bring a domain perspective most engineers don’t have. Open to AI training contracts, forward-deployed roles at vertical-AI startups, and partnerships in construction tech.

§ 02 Active builds

Geospatial · Computer vision · GIS

Map Generator

A geospatial artifact-detection system targeting Cultural Resource Management firms and archaeological consultants. Pulls historic aerials, plat data, MnDOT records, and LiDAR overlays to score and prioritize survey sites across Dakota and Goodhue County, Minnesota. Live target sites include Miesville, Welch, Trout Brook, and the Cannon River corridor.

Built with: Python · GIS pipelines · LiDAR overlays · LLM-assisted scoring

LiDAR · Construction tech · Mobile

Plumbr

A LiDAR-driven cut-list generator for finish carpenters. Replaces PDF-blueprint workflows with field-first scanning of the actual built environment — the real competitive opening that emerged from an honest adversarial review of consumer-LiDAR accuracy claims. Phase 1 MVP scoped in Linear.

Built with: iOS LiDAR APIs · Computer vision · Mobile-first stack

§ 03 Portfolio — case studies

Systems design · Cloud infra · Algorithmic trading

Multi-strategy trading system

A research-grade algorithmic trading system. Designed and tested an ordered-execution architecture against Binance.US, deployed on a GCP Ubuntu VM. Currently maintained as a portfolio case study in pipeline design, multi-component coordination, and the discipline of treating execution order as a first-class architectural constraint.

Built with: Python · GCP · Binance.US API · Ordered execution layer

Writing · UX · Behavioral inference

Editorial — synthetic cognition

“Living Life at Face Value” and an interactive React component on behavioral inference UX. Adjacent work on the operating logic of LLM-assisted thinking — the kinds of arguments that read well to a research audience and ship as product copy at the same time.

Built with: React · Editorial writing · UX prototyping

§ 04 Background
2025 — pres.

Independent builder & researcher

Self-directed work on geospatial systems, LiDAR pipelines, and LLM-driven tooling. AI used as an external cognitive system across all projects. Hennepin Technical College — AI / software development coursework.

2013 — 2025

Finish carpenter

Twelve years on the trade floor. Trim, cabinetry, built-ins, custom installs — the high-tolerance end of the work. Direct operational experience with the workflow failures that vertical AI tools are starting to address.

§ 05 Working with me

Direct, structured, dense. No filler.

Build-oriented temperament. Comfortable crossing trade-floor and engineering-room registers in the same conversation. Treats each project as part of a larger system rather than an isolated exchange. Currently open to:
